MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Smart WiFi product team is seeking a Product Lead to join us in Madrid. In this role, you will work on Telefonica's global Smart WiFi program to build services in the home connectivity space for our operating businesses in Europe and LATAM. You’ll be responsible for the product development side of the product org, taking inputs, prioritizing them and ensuring its development on time and budget through our product building process.
As our Product Lead, you’ll lead a team of product owners and be responsible for the release of the product roadmap on our release cycles, working together with 3 global areas (CCDO, CDO, GCTIO) and 6 OBs in a complex but high impact project.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Take part on the construction of the product roadmap, together with the design and research teams, aligning the needs of our customers, our business partners and our technology providers and partners.
- Understanding customer needs is a vital aspect of this job. The team must participate and drive the work of the research team to identify needs that our product can fulfill.
- There will be lots of focus on operational excellence: you'll have to follow our agile software prodcut development process and continuously work to improve it, locating and fixing bottlenecks and inneficiencies as well as anticipating risks and potential problems.
- Have a detailed view of the status of the different versions of the product and be able to communicate it clearly to senior management as well as to the delivery, ob, technology and operations teams
EDUCATION REQUIRED
MSc in computer science or related field. MBA a plus.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
• Ability to work in complex matrix organizations and manage virtual teams, aligning different parts of the organization to maximize project results
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and mobile technologies. Experience manging iOS / Android app development.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
• Track record on multi-local organization and managing products available in different geographies
• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
• Experience managing team
