This role is in the Hardware, Innovation and Eco-systems team with the Global Devices Unit based in Madrid. The role reports to the Head of Innovation Propositions. The Hardware, Innovation & Eco-systems team, have end to end responsibility for "product" within the Global Devices Unit, ensuring that Telefonica has the "best range of devices" for its customers. We strive to have the best visibility across hardware, eco-system and technology trends and developments to ensure we are able to be the "headlights" for the organisation, identifying opportunities and risks for Telefonica. We also work to build innovative device propositions leveraging the latest innovations to deliver against identiable customer segment needs. We work with many industry players including device OEMs, eco-system players, chipset vendors and industry organisations, as well as collaborating closely with our countries.
This mission of this role is as follows:
- Consumer IoT: lead Global Devices Unit input and involvement in the Consumer IoT project working as a virtual member of the the Consumer IoT team. Specifically responsible for delivering the hardware elements of the proposition including roadmap, vendors selection / management, product requirements, input to procurement processes etc. Current focus will be trackers and connected car.
- Accessories: work as part of the team to define and execute a global accessories growth project with the objective of doubling accessories revenue in 2019.
Responsabilites:
Consumer IoT:
1) Input to the global consumer IoT strategy in collaboration with the consumer IoT team.
2) Lead delivery of the hardware elements of the proposition:
- Define hardware product functional requirements and work with Global CTIO team to provide aligned technical requirements.
- Identification of relevant vendors, establish and manage relationships.
- Understand hardware product roadmaps + future hardware innovation landscape. Provide hardware visibility & expertise to the project.
- Lead evaluation / selection of shortlisted vendors / products for procurement processes.
- Support consumer IoT procurement activities providing all related hardware inputs to RFQ, RFP processes.
- Work with Consumer IoT team to define local commercial strategy and plans.
3) Build strong collaborative working relationships with the Consumer IoT team + GCTIO team working on the project.
Accessories:
1) Work with the team to define, develop and deliver a global strategy for accessories with the objective of substantially increasing revenues eg. 2x in 2019.
- Ensure input and collaborative working with different stakeholders.
- Leverage best practice from leading Telefonica operating businesses and external case studies.
- Define a bottom up plan which has actionable activities in order to deliver the expected growth in revenues.
- Gain "buy in" and sign off of the strategy
2) Establish accessory vendor relationships + negotiate and close global agreements with key accessories players:
- Key device vendors
- Strategic accessory partners (to be identified as part of the strategy)
3) Work with key countries to implement the plan and deliver expected revenues.
- Identify the right stakeholders in each operating business (OB).
- Establish a programme and gain "buy in" to the strategy
- Agree an actionable plan of activities in line with the global accessories strategy and plan.
- Work with the OB to support implementation and delivery.
- Monitor and report performance, identifying and defining operational activities to improve performance.

Education Requiered:
Graduate in business / technical related discipline.
Professional Experience:
´+ 5 years experience working within the mobile or related industry
- Specific IoT / accessories industry experience beneficial
- Experience of product management, contractual / commercial negotiations, strategy / business plan development, business development.
- Experience of working in a group context.
