Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced International Trade Compliance Specialist, to support our business on a broad range of trade compliance planning. You will interact with AWS Development, Datacenter Engineering, AWS Services, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance.

GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
· Program management for country assessments and local compliance criteria with key stakeholders including Tax, Legal, Supply Chain and Procurement, and Finance
· Drive regular rhythm of engagement and act as a resource to ensure clarity of alignment during Trade assessments; Interface with cross internal and external functional partners to identify and rectify any information/process gaps
· Analyze trends related to import/export processing requirements to identify process improvements
· Interface with cross internal and external functional partners to identify and rectify any information/process gaps during the export/import planning process
Generate and contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and metrics for all related activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
· 5+ years of relevant experience managing imports in a complex import / export environment.
· Experience generating department-level reports for management.
· Experience in process development and improvement.
· Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively.
· Be able to prioritize activities with changing timelines.
· Experience using data driven process improvement tools and metrics.
· Proven written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Fluency in English (Spoken and Written).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Customs Brokerage License a plus, but not required.
· Background in regional indirect tax regimes, with particular focus on regulatory requirements in Indonesia.
· Global logistics or supply chain experience.
· Specialized knowledge of regional import or export trade regulations.
· Experience with export classification of hardware or software containing encryption.
· Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements.
· Fluency in one or more regional languages in highly desirable.
