The Workforce Staffing (WFS) Organization is on the front line of that mission by hiring hundreds of thousands of hourly associates across multiple types of roles and businesses. To drive the continued scale of Amazon’s labour needs within a constrained employment environment, and to improve the candidate/employee experience within Amazon’s operation, Amazon is investing in its Workforce Staffing Research & Business Intelligence programs.
The Workforce Staffing Research & Business Intelligence team is your opportunity to make an impact across multiple layers of the company and the hourly workforce as a whole. This team will lead and influence programs that will enable Amazon to scale more efficiently, while also providing a unique voice for the hourly labour population within Europe.
What is the role?
The Technical Program Manager role will enable Amazon to hire an unprecedented hourly workforce by owning the project intake, backlog grooming, and architectural design of our EU Data Engineering and Data Science team. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Intelligence Engineers and Analysts, Data Engineers and our stakeholders to design and develop advanced data science solutions for various customer groups. Key Responsibilities:
· Lead projects across multiple Amazon business lines and organizations.
· Manage the backlog and prioritization for the EU program.
· Work with customers to effectively collect requirements and communicate milestones.
· Work to acquire and model all data needed for business purposes.
· Become our resident GDPR expert and institute controls to ensure compliance.
· Manage business critical initiatives to enforce standard work and reduce waste.
· Earn the trust of your customers by continuing to constantly obsess over their needs and helping them solve their problems by leveraging technology.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
· 5 years of experience in a software development or program manager role managing analytical/software projects.
· Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, planning and task delegation.
· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
· Strong interpersonal skills and excellent writing skills.
· Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems or MBA.
· Experience with agile or other program management methodologies.
· Experience in leading technical discussions and assisting teams in designing solutions.
· Curiosity to dig several layers deep into technical solutions with an eye toward continuous improvement.
· Strong organizational and negotiation skills.
· Ability to travel up to 10%.
