Would you like to own developing and managing relationships with Venture Capital firms, Incubators & Accelerators and top startups in Spain? Do you have the business savvy, technical insight and relationship development skills to mesh with the startup ecosystem and help further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud computing?

As a Startup Business Development Manager within AWS, you will have an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on the strategy to build mind share and broaden the use of Amazon’s cloud computing platform with the best startups in Spain. Your responsibilities will include driving the necessary business insights, strategic and technical relationships with VCs and Incubators and their portfolio companies, to establish meaningful business relationships. You will work closely with the AWS sales, technical and partner teams to drive strategic interactions with startups to build long-term business opportunities. You’ll work closely with AWS business development, product management and marketing teams on strategic initiatives that align with AWS goals in the startup community. You will also act as a critical interface to the startup ecosystem in the Barcelona area and half of Spain, for all facets of AWS and Amazon.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background and experience that enables them to drive engagement, and effectively interact at the Executive level with startups, VCs and incubators, as well as a technical background that allows them to effectively engage with software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and bias for action is a must. They will also possess a passion for new and emerging technologies and how they can shape the future.

Moderate travel within Spain and to France can be expected (20% of time).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 20% Travel (domestic and international)
· Substantial progressive professional experience including:
· Experience and knowledge working directly in the startup and/or venture capital ecosystem.
· Progressive experience working within the technology industry (software, IaaS, SaaS, ecommerce, venture investing in technology startups, etc.)
· Startup operating experience in business development, venture capital, or in leadership roles.
· Degree required
· Fluent or Native Spanish, both spoken and Written
· Fluent English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Startup founder/CxO experience and/or venture investment experience, and/or
· Previous work experience in large tech companies
· Capacity to handle the fast pace and continually evolving cloud computing market.
· Strong verbal and written communications and leadership skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
· MBA or equivalent executive level experience.
· Relevant business level technical knowledge of public cloud computing and the value proposition it provides to startups, with the ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between various AWS services.
