Area description

The area of CDO (Chief Data Office) is at the forefront of the expansion of Telefónica to a digital telecommunications company through the current implementation of the 4th platform and Aura. The role of the Technical Deployment Manager will be decisive to ensure that the developed solutions and capacities are effectively integrated into the local platforms to generate strategic and operational benefits in efficiency, technology and revenue. Driven by specific use cases arising from the MWC and defined by the countries integrated in a CDO function roadmap, this role will ensure that all development, training, support and integration is required in countries to fully support the deployment of the Locally defined. products At the same time, the development and adaptation of the Global product portfolio (Web profile, mobility, SNA) will be supported and will continue to be implemented in support of the activity of defined and approved use cases. Working closely with data and IT equipment, this role will also support the delivery of a standardized data source that conducts all local and global use case requirements.

 

Mission

The "sourcing & deployment" area is part of the fourth platform directorate with the purpose of driving the transformation of Telefonica into a truly digital business by driving all operating business teams to deliver one standard data environment (Normalised 4th Platform) supported through team built solutions to automate and simplify its creation. Alongside this regular discussions with the countries and direct country involvement supporting the deployment of not only these products but also all CDO generated products make this role central to the on-going business transformation of Telefonica. 

 

Main responsibilities

  • The area of the Chief Data Office is at the fore-front of the Telefonica wide change to a digital telco through the current implementation of the 4th Platform and Aura.
  • The role of Technical deployment manager will be instrumental in ensuring that the solutions and capabilities developed through this are effectively deployed into the local platforms to drive strategic and operational benefits in efficiency,technology and revenue.
  • Driven by specific use cases created in CDO global unit oriented to the countries needs, and integrated across a roadmap from the CDO function, this role will ensure that any local training,support and integration development required is delivered in country to fully support the local deployment of the defined products.
  • Alongside this, development and adaptation from the existing portfolio of Global products will be supported and continue to roll-out in support of defined and approved use case activity.
  • Ensure the availability of hardware and software requirements of global use cases in the global testing platform, and help to the local team for replicating those environtments in the local platforms.
  • Working closely with both the Data sourcing and IT teams this role will also support the delivery of a normalised data source driving all local and global use case requirements.

 

Education required

Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
Evidence of continued learning and development.
Master in Big Data and Decision Science plays in the candidates favour.

 

Skills & mindset required

  • Work closely with Country and Global managers to build out and maintain detailed on-going analysis of Telefonica´s products, their usage patterns and performance.
  • Data Quality: Generate controls that validate the quality and integrity of the data.
  • Machine learning techniques and tools.
  • Able to travel internationally to support local deployments in-country.
  • Collaborate with other analysts across Telefonica Global and local teams to generate a framework for deployments, ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate and focussed representations of the efficacy of the products.
  • Communicate clearly and responsively to deliver solutions locally through both remote and in-country approach´s before during and after any deployment. 
  • Able to maintain a driven, high energy and results oriented approach whilst leading multiple activities delivering high quality solutions.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure. Enthusiastic, self-starter, proactive, self-responsible.
  • Responsive to new challenges and changing requirements.

 

Technical Knowledge

  • Experience dealing with large datasets, log mining, large graphs analysis
  • Confident on defining (distributed) algorithms in big data frameworks
  • Proved experience deploying big data solutions in production environments
  • Automatisation of deployment (Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory…) and virtual environments (Virtualenv, Docker…) 
  • Full stack Data Analysis: Data Strategy - Data Modelling - Data Mining - Anomaly Detection - Segmentation - Classification – Prediction.
  • Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
  • Evidence of continued learning and development.
  • Master in Big Data and Decision Science plays in the candidates favour.

 

Professional background

  • Experience in an analytical role extracting and surfacing value from quantitative data.
  • Strong eye for detail and a passion for quickly delivering results for rapid action.
  • Excellent written, verbal, scientific communication and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, consensus-oriented environment.
