Amazon is hiring a Procurement Manager to join the EU Launch & Expansion Procurement team
You’ll be responsible for
(1) providing leadership, management and coordination of procurement tasks and dependencies to support the on-time delivery of goods and services for new sites as part of the EU launch program.
(2) analyzing large data sets, identifying improvement areas and carrying out root cause analysis to detect systemic issues
(3) defining and leading process improvement project initiatives across multiple business lines
(4) monitoring and controlling multiple project progress and performance simultaneously
The role is seen as a strategic driver for excellence, to implement best practices and standardized approaches for equipment management.
You will be an experienced procurement or project/program management professional, with experience of using industry standard methodologies to take the lead on defining and managing project management processes and procedures.
You will have excellent communication skills to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and have the ability to focus simultaneously on short term deliverables and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver long term value to internal customers.
Key job responsibilities
Provide leadership, management and coordination of procurement tasks and dependencies to ensure goods and services critical to the launch of new sites are planned for, ordered and delivered on time
· Lead set up of all standard procurement procedures for new sites and identify ways to streamline existing processes to remove waste across multiple businesses groups and categories
· Track and report project progress and performance, proactively identify risks, issues and manage mitigation plans when necessary
· Provide fast and responsive support when faced with escalations from senior leadership, own and drive resolution of issues
· Partner with Category Managers with the objective of standardizing category order and escalation processes, driving effective two-way communication and mitigating risks related to all EU launches
· Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to internal customers to embed use of best practice processes
· Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with internal customers in the Start Up and Launch teams, ensuring regular communication channels are in place
About the team
The Launch & Expansion Procurement team acts as the procurement frontline, supporting Launch and Start Up teams in the execution of new building launches for all EU Ops business groups including Customer Fulfillment (CF), Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) and Amazon Extra Large (AMXL).
We program manage the procurement milestones and tasks, track and monitor purchase order delivery timings, report on project progress and work in close partnership with other internal procurement teams.
Our mission is to ensure all goods and services are planned for, ordered and delivered in line with the program timeline.

Bachelor’s degree
Proven project management experience and skills in Supply Chain/Procurement
Ability to dive deep into challenges identify and mitigate root causes
Professional experience in Procurement
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with metrics creation and data presentation
· Ability to dive deep into data, identify trends and define opportunities.
· High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
· Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
· Focus and passion for high quality standards and thinking forward on mechanisms to reduce defects
Analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business case
· Strong change management and implementation experience, including a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with high levels of management
