Prime EU is seeking an experienced, analytical, data driven Product Manager who will be at the center of defining exciting initiatives in the newly formed Prime MOJO team, aimed at optimizing customer membership journey, involving complex projects linking Prime member acquisition and retention. The PM will be the EU-owner of the product roadmap for this global team. Immediate project work relates to developing innovative product and marketing capabilities to enhance payments experience especially those related to the new Payments Services Directive (PSD2) legislation across EU countries requiring Multifactor Authentication (MFA). The role has significant senior and international exposure within Prime, International Retail, Payments, and Biz Dev teams. As an EU-based PM within the MOJO team, the successful candidate will lead innovative projects that drive the new customer journey, CX improvements and business impact that are critical for the growth of the Prime program across EU and beyond.
Prime is a fast-growing membership program providing customers in Europe and beyond with free premium delivery on tens of millions of items plus digital benefits like Prime Video, Prime Music, Twitch Prime, etc. Since its introduction in the US in 2005, Prime has become an important engine of global growth for Amazon. Prime members buy more items, shop more often, and spend more than the average Amazon customer. Since the 2005 US launch, Prime has expanded to U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Canada, India, Australia, UAE and Benelux. As the program continues to grow, it has become an increasingly meaningful source of competitive advantage and is a critical building block of Amazon’s proposition.
This role serves as the regional EU lead for the development of new products and marketing capabilities to meet Prime’s future needs in Europe. The PM will own the definition and implementation of key actions linked to PSD2 readiness (, including launching new payment products and benefits across EU as well as developing new marketing capabilities. The role requires full ownership of this process from ideation/prioritization of initiatives, PRFAQ and business requirements development, through deployment and go to market strategy. It requires working internationally and cross-functionally, collaborating with diverse teams both within Prime and beyond; including direct work with our global tech teams and finance teams. Although initially the main focus will be linked to PSD2 / MFA due to its criticality for the business, the role will incorporate related to broader payments innovation and CX and product improvements to enhance the complete customer journey through Prime membership.
We are looking for a Product Manager who shares Amazon's passion for the customer and who excels at developing new ideas and innovating on behalf of our customers. The successful candidate must have experience managing complex products and projects and must have the ability to influence and successfully drive initiatives forward, rallying resources and aligning a large number of different stakeholders cutting across geographies and functions. The PM balance creativity and flexibility in product development and stakeholder management with a need to be detail-oriented and extremely organized, capable of handling multiple projects at once, able to take direction, deliver, be thick-skinned and professional, capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly-changing environment, and comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Besides having first-class written and verbal communication skills, this product manager will be able to prioritize to meet deadlines, manage expectations and dependencies, and be able to make data driven recommendations and show results with data. In addition, candidates must be successful both as individual contributors and in a team environment, and needs the ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to communicate priorities effectively with stakeholders.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· EU owner of products in MOJO roadmap: define & improve the overall Prime CX and product and marketing capabilities, innovating on behalf of our customers
· Understanding the local payments landscape to become a trusted advisor in the space
· Leading the analysis of impacts & mitigation actions per country together with Prime EU Finance, Prime country leaders and the MFA core team, identifying gaps and recommending solutions / actions.
· Act as key EU-based POC, coordinating between local EU Prime teams and Prime & Retail Leadership, US-based Prime Product and Marketing experts, global Finance, BI and additional project related stakeholders.
· Develop Roadmap for Product and Marketing improvements to mitigate impact of PSD2, improving Prime customer journey / CX alternatives per country, including: 1) Identify and scope different initiatives, CX improvements and experiments; 2) Modeling each initiative and use case, 3) Prioritize key actions; 4) Develop PRFAQs and BRDs; 5) Set goals and metrics; 6) Develop and coordinate implementation and deployment plans across multiple countries; and 7) Gather key data and contribute to ongoing improvements process.
· Define success metrics and monitor them. Creating inputs for Finance and related teams and reports (OP, 3YF, MBRs, QBRs, etc.).
· Develop ad-hoc business analysis and recommendations
· Product & Project Management for related initiatives and innovations, liaising closely with Technical Project Managers in the US and global development and QA teams
· Work closely with Prime Marketing to develop localized marketing strategy and communication plans
· Push Prime and Prime-related initiatives with internal stakeholders such as Transportation, Prime Video, and Prime Music
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management or related field
· 7+ years product management, business analyst or related experience shaping products in a complex industry, ideally banking / payments or ecommerce
· Proven track record in product management, including ability to develop new product ideas, define business requirements in detail, and work closely with technical teams
· Experience in managing complex projects and diverse, international teams
· Proven analytical and marketing capabilities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
· Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong delivery, attention to detail and bias for action, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
· Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
· Comfortable with ambiguity
