Global BSS Full Stack Project Manager en Madrid

The new environmental realities, plus the transformation process of Telefónica into a , have made us focus on three clearly defined areas in our management of to have the best team, the most effective company culture and the simplest organisational structure possible, making us able to adapt to the changing needs of our customers. These three people based priorities support the implementation of the strategic transformation programme of Telefónica .

 

IT Transformation is one of the key programmes of the huge transformation that Telefónica is performing to achieve the target of becoming a really Digital Telco and being able to bring the best of technology to people at all times. Digitalization is critical to the future of Telefonica and it is one on the six strategic initiatives of the company program. Telefonica has in place several business led and process-driven transformations providing coverage to the Customer Centric processes. One of the most important initiatives are the Full Stacks. It is essential to be leveraged in the scale, ensure the delivery in a sustainable way and lead the business on this transformation execution

 

This role plays a critical Program Management role in the Global Full Stack transformation execution. It focuses on supporting the OBs on projects definition, execution and performance, being co-responsible of the projects objectives achievement (time, cost & quality)


As part of the Global Systems and Network team this role will perform the following functions:
1.- Build an e2e view of Telefónica’s Full Stack transformation initiatives
• Steer and manage the IT strategy execution via the Full Stack programs in the OBs
• Build an e2e view of Telefónica’s Full Stack transformation (for those initiatives under this role responsibility), effectively enforcing IT strategy rollout
• Act as global advisor when establishing direction being co-responsible of the project execution with the OBs
• Interact with key OB leadership stakeholders (e.g. CIO, project leaders) to build an aligned agenda based on best practices
• Support planning and challenge transformation plans based on best practices
2. Execute, Track and Coordinate Full stack initiatives
• Execute, Track and Coordinate with the OBs
    Integrated with the local team, follow up full-stack transformations being performed by every OB challenging the pace and boosting execution

    Validate key decisions, impacting in project scope, plan, costs or potential business impact
    Provide transversal view of the full-stack initiatives, across OBs with same vendor
    Facilitate steering and communication of the progress of the full stack journey (e.g., tracking of transformation objectives)
    Act as a central contact point with the OBs to coordinate the Global teams supporting the transformation 
• Execute, Track and coordinate within Global Systems & Network teams
    Coordinate the Global team who is participating in Full Stack initiatives
    Track the Global activities within the Full Stack projects
    Track Corporate Applications projects lead by Global and in the critical path for Full Stack
    Maintain a list of open actions, due dates and responsible to support the initiatives
    Track and challenge Global open actions until finished 
• Vendor Management: 
    Consolidate the relationship with Full Stack vendors, validating any decision impacting in project scope, plan, costs or potential business impact
    Interact with solution providers managers to escalate issues, follow-up open actions and resolve specific doubts on ad-hoc basis
    Boost Full Stack vendors to build and execute structural improvement plans to solve common issues among the different projects and improve performance
    Maintain a Vendor list of open actions, due dates and responsible 
    Track and challenge Vendor open actions until finished 
3.- Boost standardization and reutilization
• Industrialize Full Stack methodology, gathering, homogenizing and maintaining project methodology knowledge, including documents, templates, lessons learnt and best practices
• Work with Global Control team to build and track a common set of KPIs to track projects progress, performance, quality and costs
• Consolidate, share and influence to deploy best practices and synergies
• Support Transformation initiatives Governance definition

Academic qualifications (degree, major courses, certificates, etc.)
1. University Degree in telecommunications or computer engineering
2. PMP certification 
3. MBA, Master in International relations or Master in International commerce
4. TM Forum Standards specifically eTOM and TAM
5. IT reference models (CMMi, ITIL)
Corporate Competencies
1. “Leadership” mindset and strong interpersonal and communication skills at Executive level
2. Strong orientation to results, eager for achievement
3. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and coaching skills, cultural sensitivity

Technical Competencies
1. Experience in managing large application development in large BSS projects 
2. Experience in managing IT transformation initiatives in Telecom
3. Proven experience in IT technology, Telco Processes, Telco BSS
4. Knowledge of BSS vendor solutions and implementation (ideally worked for a BSS solution vendor) in particular Amdocs, Huawei or Netcracker would be valuable
5. Knowledge of TM Forum Standards specifically eTOM and TAM   
Office software and applications knowledge
1. Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, etc.
Languages (indicate required level)
• Spanish Fluent
• English: Fluent
• Other: Portuguese (will be valued)

Proffesional experience 
• Minimum 12 years required In Telco applications development projects, BSS Architecture, IT strategic projects or corporate transformation initiatives IT related for Telco Sector
• Project based working experience
• IT Governance activities experience including IT financial understanding
• Demonstrable experience in multinational/multicultural projects
